Friday Feb 26th

Just about everything on the scan yesterday broke through the low of the keybar which makes the trade null and void. ACE however held its low so I put an order in and by the end of the day I was filled. It would be nice to get a pop this morning and take some profits but advance GDP is out this morning which will really move the market. A good report and we are taking some profits. Anyhow I liked a couple from last nights scan.....here they are:

Feb 25th 2010

Probably my number one rule in trading that I have is to never turn a winning trade into a loser. I demand alot of my trades and the market and if a trade is not doing what I want it to or expect then I cut it loose. Yesterday after I sold M (because it was chopping sideways for 2 hours) it ground its way higher for the rest of the day making me look like an idiot. Well I have looked like an idiot on many occasions so this is no real surprise but who really knew what the stock was gonna do after I sold it?? No one thats who. I could be sitting on a 250 dollar losing position right now too. Capital preservation is the name of the game here and if the big one gets away once in a while because of it then so be it. Call me an idiot but I will be a wealthy one in time. Here are a few from the new scan:

Small Winner

Well back in the win column as I bailed on M after it fought with 18.95 for a couple of hours. It has promptly broke through there now and is trading right around 19 bucks but I don't care, I will take the 80 bucks and move on to something that hopefully moves better. You can't go broke taking a profit.

After a fight to get my computer back from my guy and re-installing mytrack, sierra charts, proactive futures, skype among other things yesterday I have not had time to focus on trading. Hopefully that changes today with 6 on my shortlist from the scan:

Wed Feb 10

Got stopped outa CDR yesterday and took my hit. No updates for a week cause we are heading to Mexico....17 of us. Will update when we get back hopefully with a suntan and a burned out liver!! Adios Amigos!!

Tuesday Feb 9th

CDR dropped at the close like everything else and now our position is down 100 bucks. Stop loss is in at 6.47. The scan had over 600 sells signals and the buy signals were all inverse ETF's. When it gets to the extremes like this it is usually time for a reversal....lets hope that it happens. I picked 2 inverse ETF's from the scan just in case:

DXD 32.19 - 31.38

CDR

LPX triggered and went in the first 2 mins of trading so we missed that one but managed to get filled in the slower moving CDR at 6.66. LPX has been all over the place anyways and is currently below our entry price so maybe its good that we got the slow mover. My target is probably gonna be the 10 m/a on a daily chart or when it fills the gap and around 6.90-93 ish area. Lets see what happens.

Friday Feb 5

Out of the gate yesterday DUG gapped us and easily cruised to a 500 dollar profit with oil dropping over 4 bucks a barrel. Your happy that the scan gets it right but once in a while I would like to catch one of those moves. We must have discipline tho and stick to our risk perameters. Even with the dow being down 268 points on the day we did 1 trade in POT and scalped 50 bucks outa them. There were 5 buys in the scan and I liked one of them but it has volume issues so be careful:

Thursday Feb 4

Both stocks on the list never triggered yesterday and POT jumped 4 bucks at the open then just chopped sideways for the rest of the day so nothing was done. Remember the 4 stocks that triggered and 3 went higher on tuesday? Well look a the one stock that didnt go higher that day.....AJG....it went up over a buck yesterday...WOW! If you did hang onto that one it would have been a nice payday. I found 4 I liked in the scan but the first 2 have volume issues and the last one is high risk so a limited number of shares should be purchased.

Wed Feb 3rd

Yesterday everything triggered on my list but I just couldnt buy for some reason. Either price gapped and then came back to the entry or price just hung around the entry for too long just chopping there. At any rate, 3 of the 4 were higher by the end of the day so money was lost basically. I only found a couple from the scan for today:

Happy Ground Hog Day! Hopefully like the movie we can have a repeat performance of yesterdays trade. Found a few stocks in yesterdays scan with low risk....with the exception of RDN...here they are:

RDN 6.75 - 6.22

BVF

Got filled in BVF at 14.68 about 25 minutes into the session and when the highs were retested but not taken out I bailed at 14.85 for 170.00 in profit. Now we will see if POT sets up again. There were 2 trades in POT while I was in this one that would have worked out nicely but my focus was on BVF at the time. See if we get another signal.

Monday Feb 1st

Went through the scans from the weekend. Didn't like too much but managed to find a couple that would be good.

BVF 14.67 - 14.25

TBI 14.52 - 13.98

I will also be trying a new strategy intraday trading POT. I watched it for 3 days last week and now this week I am gonna get my feet wet. Will keep you posted.
